3 Year Olds Newsletter

Dear Parent,

This week we are reading Grey Rabbit's Odd One Out. It is a story about a rabbit who is trying to put his toys away by sorting out items that are the same and then finding the one that doesn't belong, the odd one out. We will be doing some sorting and finding the odd one out also. We will also be playing the card game "Old Maid" to see who gets the odd one out. You can do this with your child with any deck of cards but only use a few matching pairs and then keep an odd one so your child can hold them and doesn't get discouraged. We will continue the name song we started last week to help your child practice identifying his/her name. We will add some new action songs and begin walking on the balance beam, turning and going backwards at the midpoint (It sits on the floor). Our learning goals are: I can follow directions, I can find my name, I can find matches, I can tell what is different when given an odd one out, I can walk on a balance beam with assistance, I can take turns in a game, I can put things back where they belong and I can find Jesus in and around our school.

• We will be sending home an activity sheet this week that your child can return for a prize. 
• We will be sending home a Scholastic book order this week. This is an optional opportunity for you. We get free items when families order.
• Please be sure to send back the family book page so we can begin sending The Family Book around.
• We will be sending home an activity bag next week. Please enjoy the contents with your child and return it on the next class day so we can pass it on.
