March 5, 2026 - Class Update

4th - 6th Grade Newsletter

The 4/5/6 graders will have 2 projects due in the 4th quarter in May.. 

In science they can choose a topic to teach the class.  They need to include an activity or experiment that is based on their chosen topic.  We have done many lessons with an activity or experiment in science this year, so the class knows what this is like.  Please do something your child is comfortable with and can teach us.  If they choose, they can do a demonstration, rather than an activity or experiment, while we watch and learn.  

In social studies, they will choose a person from the Civil War time period to teach us more about.  They need to wear a simple costume, bring props (if needed), and write a report they will share with us.  The report is written as the person they are dressed as. This way they "become that person".  It can be a specific person or a person that would have lived back then.  For example:  President Lincoln, a Union soldier, or a civilian.

I do not have a rubric for either project yet, but I will at the beginning of the 4th quarter.  As the 3rd quarter ends on March 13th, please expect the rubrics the week of the 23rd.

Both exact due dates will be given on the rubrics.
