3 Year Olds Newsletter
Dear Parent,
This week we are talking about Spring. On Tuesday we made rainbows with our names, made our cross symbol with the prayer for week four of Lent, and looked at some of the Stations of the Cross in church. We also walked on a balance beam in different ways and tried standing on a balance board. Tomorrow we will look at some more of the Stations and make trees that show the changes for the four seasons. Our learning goals are: I can recognize my name, I can write my name by myself or with assistance, I can listen to a story, I can walk on a balance beam, I can balance for five seconds, I can show how a tree looks during the four seasons, and I can tell if someone is being kind to Jesus in the Stations of the Cross.

Please remember to send in desserts for the Fish Fry with your child, either homemade or store bought. We can still use volunteers to help with setting up on Thursdays from 3:30-6:00, during the Fish Fry on Friday from 4:00-7:30 and after the fish fry to take down the tables and chairs from 8:00-9:00. Let me know if you are interested in helping. All proceeds from the fish fry go to the school!
Tips for Parents from Preschool Teachers
Tip #11. Give structured choices. If, for example, your 3-year-old refuses to sit at the dinner table, you might offer the choice of sitting and getting dessert -- or not sitting and missing out on a treat. "At first, your child may not make the right choice, but eventually he will, because he'll see that the wrong choice isn't getting him what he wants," says Buss. Just be sure, if you want your child to choose option A, that option B is less attractive.
Have a blessed first week of Spring!
Sincerely,
Pamela Nunnelley
