Welcome back to school! I hope that this finds your family well after the Christmas break!  Thanks so much for the lovely Christmas gifts!  All will be put to good use!  

I am going to implement a few more things in the classroom and activities to hopefully enrich your family's spiritual journey.  

Fluency Folders--Your child may have a fluency folder will be sent home on Mondays.  It contains a passage that your child needs to read every night and must be returned on Fridays.  I would recommend having your child just keep it in their backpack at all times.  You find more information that will be coming home with the folder.

Sight Words--Your child will be working on their own set of sight words in school.  If necessary, you will see that your child might need to practice at home during the week as well.  If practice is needed, you will find them in your child's assignment notebook

Traveling Shrine--The children will have opportunities to bring home a traveling shrine focusing on a particular saint.  There are all kinds of materials pertaining to a specific saint and instructions to guide you through your week with the saint including a journal for you to log your family's experience.  The shrines will likely go home on Mondays and need to be returned to school on Friday of that same week.
