3 Year Olds Newsletter

Dear Parent,

This week we are learning about animals in the winter. On Tuesday we read Bear Snores On by Karma Wilson. We looked at our My Big World magazine to find out how hedgehogs handle winter, sorted bears into caves that matched their size, and cut a lift-the-flap book about animals that hibernate. We also started learning a new song to help us learn our friends' names. On Thursday we will read A Bed for Winter. We will find some animals who hibernate and some that do not, match numbers to dots, and cut hearts.

If you have an empty shoe box, please send it in tomorrow. I have about ten already. We would like to start decorating them.

20 Tips for Parents From Preschool Teachers

Tip #4  Let them solve simple problems. If you see your child trying to assemble a toy or get a book from a shelf that she can reach if she stands on her stepstool, pause before racing over to help. "Provided that they are safe, those moments when you don't rush in, when you give children a moment to solve things for themselves, those are the character-building moments," says Zebooker. "It's natural to want to make everything perfect, but if we do, we cheat kids of the chance to experience success."

Thank you for participating in our fundraisers. The Chipotle night brought us $474.94. Please share the Texas Roadhouse fundraiser information with family and friends.

Your child's assessments are in the folders today. If you would like a conference, please let me know.

Have a blessed week!

Sincerely,

Pamela Nunnelley
