3 Year Olds Newsletter

Dear Parent,

Happy Easter and welcome back! It is hard to believe our year is almost over!  This week we will be talking about animals that hatch from eggs with the book Whose Eggs Are These?

We have eggs in an incubator that hopefully will hatch before school is out. We are making a hatching chick picture, our own name book, and putting eggs and birds in nests to match numbers to 10. We will also be sequencing how a baby chick hatches, finding matching eggs, discussing Easter and looking at the empty tomb. We will also be working on end of the year assessments.

Tips for Parents from Preschool Teachers

Tip #14. Do it to music. There's a reason the "cleanup" song works. "Set a task to music, and suddenly it's fun," says Sandy Haines, a teacher at the Buckingham Cooperative Nursery School, in Glastonbury, Connecticut. If you're not feeling creative, suggest "racing" a song: "Can you get dressed before Raffi finishes singing 'Yellow Submarine'?"
