Our Parents Say It Best

To say sending our daughter to St. Patrick’s school has been a blessing is very true, but for our family it was more than that, it was life changing.

When weighing the options of where to send our first child to school, we knew we wanted a place with certain characteristics including Christian values, small class sizes that would allow her to be challenged academically, and experienced teachers we could trust as we sent her away for her first, hopefully positive, formative years of school.

Last spring we were looking for a school with these characteristics and researching options for partial day preschool and kindergarten.  During that time our daughter began exhibiting some anxiety which we were told was common in many kids during covid quarantine, lack of social interaction, and other health precautions.  Once that anxiety started affecting her daily life and ability to function, we realized we had to find ways to help her. One of those included sending her to a school that could provide her with socialization, structure, and consistency that centered around a loving God.   That school was St. Patrick’s.

Over the last 2 years we’ve seen our daughter grow in many ways.  She loves her teachers, has made many friends, and has excelled academically.  More importantly to us, she has become kinder, more patient, and practiced problem-solving skills that are so important every day.  She is excited to tell us about what she is learning and sing songs from class.  She also shared with us how she enjoys talking to God and during lent this year, she decided on her own to pray the rosary every Sunday when we got home from mass.

“An investment in knowledge pays the best interest.” Benjamin Franklin.  Many people are hesitant to send their child to a private school due to cost which is understandable.  Currently legislatures are reviewing new routes to aid in the cost of private tuition including expanding the Education Opportunity Account Act which would allow more families to be eligible to apply.  Additionally, as a pleasant surprise to us in retrospect, we learned that preschool and kindergarten tuition is tax deductible as childcare for children that age.

“And God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19

I hope you too can prayerfully consider sending your child to this amazing God filled school.  Additionally, if you don’t have school aged children, please consider supporting this full education by donating to the school.  Your support can make a positive difference in the lives of so many.

God is good,

Andrea

“Train up a child in the way he should go, even when he is old he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6

BRANDY GIBSON

St. Patrick's school has been a great place to start my children's education.  My family followed the Principal, Pamela Nunnelley, to St. Patrick because she had been an amazing teacher to all of my children.  She has built this school into a fun, exciting and hands-on place of learning for the children she teaches. When it was announced the school was expanding to include a kindergarten class I enrolled my
child. I have been pleased with my son's experience. The small class size allows the teacher to focus on the child's specific needs. The curriculum is exactly what I wanted. A focus on reading, writing and math was important for me and the teacher had done a great job teaching these subjects.  I love that my son is also leaning Social Studies, Science, Religion and Spanish. My child loves St. Patrick and is excited to go to school everyday.  The school has been able to keep the cost of their private school lower than many private schools in the area.  The best part is low tuition but high quality teachers.

I send both my children to St. Patrick Preschool and couldn't be more thrilled.   Both of my children were shy, picky eaters, and loved being home with mommy and daddy.  After the first week my kids loved going to school to see their new little friends.  They even loved trying the snacks provided at snack time.  The teachers are patient, kind, and very hands on with the kids, which was one of my favorite things.
My favorite memory was when my kids came home saying the Pledge of Allegiance and I didn't teach them that.  They learned if from school at the age of 3!  Seriously, send your kids to St. Patrick School!  Both you and your kids will fall in love with the teachers.

RACHEL TSCHUMPER

When searching for preschools for our daughter, we were wanting to find a God centered school that also had an excellent academic program. St. Patrick's was the perfect fit! From the moment we walked into St. Patrick's we were impressed with the environment. Not to mention our 4 year old daughter's eyes lit up! The teacher's are skilled in unique and fun learning techniques.  They are compassionate with all the children and make
school exciting for our daughter. Her favorite parts of school are playing outside, snack time, the sand table, painting, her friends, the toys, and storytime. Basically she loves it all!

JOHN ZURBORG

My wife Susan and I sent our kids to Catholic preschool, Catholic kindergarten, and a Catholic grade school.  Pam really did a great job of molding our kids' understanding of who God is and what faith is. it was really preparing them extremely well academically. It was important to my wife and I.  We had a number of options.  we could have gone to a public school. We could have homeschooled them.
We elected to make sure they had a Catholic education and it payed off very well for my wife and I.  We were able to spend time together as a family and share our faith as the kids were growing. It set a really strong foundation to use as they grew up as kids into young adults and now full blown adults. It's an experience that I wouldn't give up for the world. And, I hope that other parents understand that in those early years, forming a kids mind, both intellectually and spiritually is setting a foundation that will serve them well through the rest of their lives...
