3 Year Olds Newsletter
Dear Parent,
This week we are continuing to talk about Creation as well as our Grandparents. We will complete our Creation book and bring it home on Thursday. We have been so pleased to see how good the fine motor skills of the children are!
We are so excited to have our grandparents come to school on Thursday. The children helped make muffins to share with them for snack. We will be making a project together with our grandparents for the grandparents to keep. There will also be items the grandparents can purchase for their grandchildren since we know grandparents love to do that!
Many parents like to begin practicing with their child on writing the child's name, especially for signing special things like birthday or Christmas cards and presents. This is a great skill to start early but always makes teachers nervous because we want children to practice forming letters the correct way. God gave us such amazing bodies and these bodies have muscle memory. Because of this muscle memory, it is important to help guide your child in forming letters the correct way and in the correct order. Do not let them practice writing their name or letters backward. It does not matter if the letters are all over the page as long as the child is writing them in the order they appear in the child's name. Expect your child to write big. Capitals are easier to start with than lowercase letters. Just be there to help talk them through how to form the letters and model for them. They love to copy what we adults do!
