3 Year Olds Newsletter
Dear Parent,
Since this is our last day before Thanksgiving break, we will finish up with some Thanksgiving activities. We will hear the story of the first Thanksgiving and make a bracelet. Your child will bring the story home so you can see what the beads stand for. We will be playing Thanksgiving Bingo to practice looking for matching items and work on visual discrimination. We will be doing some cutting and counting to match a recipe. We are also starting on Christmas presents so please make sure to send in the list of people your child may want to make gifts for as soon as possible if you have not already. It came home in the folder.
Please check your child's extra clothes in the backpack to make sure it is cold weather appropriate. We do go outside every day so please make sure to send a coat and mittens or gloves if needed. We are out for about fifteen minutes.

Tip #4 for Parents from Preschool Teachers
Let them solve simple problems. If you see your child trying to assemble a toy or get a book from a shelf that she can reach if she stands on her stepstool, pause before racing over to help. "Provided that they are safe, those moments when you don't rush in, when you give children a moment to solve things for themselves, those are the character-building moments," says Zebooker. "It's natural to want to make everything perfect, but if we do, we cheat kids of the chance to experience success."
Thank you for sharing your children with us. We are honored that you have chosen us to help them learn every day! If you are looking for ideas for Christmas, these are our recommendations:
scissors and colored paper, stickers to put on the paper (great for fine motor skills), magna tiles, sit and spin, puzzles (builds space awareness), beads with large holes and pipecleaners or stiff string, look and find books, wooden blocks, and picture books
Have a blessed Thanksgiving and enjoy some family time!
Sincerely,
Pamela Nunnelley
