Mar 6, 2025 - Native American Project and Class Update

4th & 5th Grade Newsletter

Good Evening Parents:

The 4/5 graders have decided together that they would complete a project on a tribe of his/her choice.  The project includes a written report, an example of a home, and any other pictures, crafts, or examples of how the tribe lived before European explorers arrived in North America.  One requirement I made was that they could not buy anything plastic for this project.  They are going to try to make their home from natural materials as much as possible.  I've gotten books out of the library that we will use for research at school but your child may ask to do some research at home using a computer, especially finding pictures.  

In other subjects, we are completing comprehension exercises in reading.  Finishing up rules/patterns about suffixes in spelling and prepositional phrases in grammar.  

Math we will continue our math facts drills, fractions review, and beginning our study of decimals.  Science we are learning about types of energy.  Religion we continue our study of the two great commandments and the season of Lent.
