3 Year Olds Newsletter

Dear Parent,

This week we will be bringing home our first Lenten symbol, a heart, with a prayer you can say as a family. We will also be saying it this week at school. Remember to check out the Lenten calendar of good deeds to do for Lent that we sent home last week. There is something each day for your child to do to show Jesus how much we love him. We are also learning about polar animals. Our learning goals are: I can listen to a story, I can sort animals by polar animals and not polar animals, I can tear paper, I can find animals that are described to me, I can count objects to 4, I can find things created by God, I can say a prayer with motions, I can use fine motor skills to decorate a book, and I can read a polar animal book.

Tips for Parents From Preschool Teachers

20. Don't delay discipline. If you must reprimand your child, do so when you see her misbehaving, advises Buss. "Sometimes I will hear parents say, 'Wait until we get home ... ,' but by the time you're home, your child has forgotten the incident." Similarly, canceling Saturday's zoo trip because of Thursday's tantrum won't prevent future outbursts; it will just feel like random, undeserved punishment to your child.
