4th - 6th Grade Newsletter

Good Afternoon, Everyone.

We will be attending Elf, Jr. on Thursday.  Permission slips went home Friday!  Please send them back in on Tuesday or Wednesday.  There is no cost since the PTO has paid for us to go.  Thank you PTO!

There will be a Unit 3 Test in Religion.  It will be next week on Tuesday, Dec. 16th.  A study guide will be coming home tomorrow.  This way your child will have plenty of time to prepare for the test.  We will be doing Advent activities for the next two weeks in preparation to Christmas.

We continue to read Moccasin Trail together in class.  Students reflect on the events and characters in the book from time to time.  Comprehension lessons continue with a test after everyone completes 6 lessons.  The lessons are done together by grades, but the tests are done individually.  

Spelling and grammar are done week by week.  This will be a bit different due to the shortened week and the play.  The tests will be the week of the 15th.  Please check the planner for the exact dates.

In Social Studies we continue to learn about the Westward Expansion of the U.S. and in science we continue to learn about changes in matter.  
We began cursive writing.  If your child has already mastered all cursive letters, he or she will be given different passages to complete in cursive.  
Lastly, thank you for sending in glue sticks.  Our classroom supply was quite low.
